Today I have joined a joint welcome luncheon for the new Permanent Secretary of Commerce and Economic Development Mr. Duncan Pescod taken place in The Charter Room, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Happy Valley Clubhouse. It is the 2nd time for me to meet with Mr. Pescod because we have been acquainted during the Hong Kong Productivity Council meeting last week. Our HKPC Chairman, Mr. Andrew Leung conducted 80% of the meeting in Cantonese. Listening to Cantonese is not a problem to Duncan at all. It is because he has lived in Hong Kong for 25 years. From the speech of Duncan, I share the same view that there are lots of opportunities in the European countries. We should capture such opportunity to develop the European market. I sincerely hope that Duncan can take the lead and bring Hong Kong delegates to Europe so as to promote closer collaboration between Hong Kong and Europe. Yet, Hong Kong can act as a bridge to link China and Europe IT industry together. I feel so glad to meet with Duncan and waiting for our keen cooperation in future. |
